I am in love with this adorable gift! Okay, I know I created it but it’s just so cute. I would LOVE to get this! Today’s post featuring the Copper Tea Tins I’ve gone Christmas themed with not quite a traditional colour! The idea to decorate the tin in this way came from New Zealand demonstrator Susan Wong.
All supplies used in this project are shown at the end of this post in the thumbnails. These are linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store.
To create this project:
- Cut a strip of 12″ X 12″ Whisper White cardstock 60mm wide. This strip will nicely wrap around the whole tin!
- Die cut some snowflakes from the Snowfall Thinlits of various sizes. You can cut these from scrap pieces of card stock.
- Using your Sponger Brayers (I know they were last week’s product but I just LOVED this technique), Costal Cabana and Bermuda Bay decorate the strip of Whisper White cardstock using the snowflakes as masks. A bit like I did for this snowflake project. First use Costal Cabana and then add some Bermuda Bay so some areas.
- Once the strip is decorated, take some rubbing alcohol into a Stampin’ Spritzer (about 3/4 full) with some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (less than 1/4). Shake and spritz so that is is shimmery!
- Cut the large label from the Stitched Labels Framelits from Bermuda Bay cardstock. Heat Emboss in Silver Embossing Powder the christmas sentiment from the Snow Is Glistening stamp set.
- Die cut some extra snowflakes from the White Velveteen Sheets and adhere them to the stitched label from behind using a Glue Dot.
- Wrap the decorated cardstock strip around the tin – joint at the bottom. You can use some sticky tape to join it.
- Thread some of the Costal Cabana Tea Room Ribbon through the stitched label and tie it to the tin. To create the bow I took a little bit more of the Tea Room Ribbon and wound it around my fingers three times. Then placed it into the knot of the ribbon on the tin and tied another knot. This created a three loop bow.
- Use a Glue Dot to adhere the Snowflake Trinket.
The Snow Is Glistening stamp set, Snowfall Thinlits, Snowflake Trinkets and White Velveteen Sheets are all part of the Snowfall Showcase which is currently available to purchase for Demonstrators Only! I’ve tried to photograph to show you how shimmery this cardstock is from the shimmer paint, but its really hard to capture. This photo does show it a bit (though it is so much more in person):
Would you like a to get a gift like this? What would you like to see go inside this tin?
