I know I’ve said this a few times already, but I’m really going to miss the Magical Day stamp set by Stampin’ Up!®. It’s been perfect for cards for my kids’ friends! This card I made for a delightful 4 year old girl who goes to preschool with my daughter. It’s the first birthday party my little miss has been invited to since our move to Sydney so I thought such a special occasion deserved a very special card.
To make this card:
- Cut card base from Whisper White card stock (half a A4 sheet).
- Cut a piece of Bermuda Bay card stock 190mm by 128.5mm.
- Cute a piece of Pool Party card stock 186mm by 124.5mm.
- Stamp the mermaid (once) and sea horse (twice) images from the Magical Day stamp set onto Shimmery White card stock using Archival Black ink.
- Water colour the mermaid and seahorses using the Aqua Painter. I used Calypso Coral for the skin of the mermaid, Berry Burst for the mermaid’s tail and seahorses fins, Bermuda Bay for the mermaids fins and seahorses body, and Chocolate Chip for the mermaid’s hair.
- Using the Big Shot die cut the number from the Whisper White Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper. Water colour the number using the Aqua Painter and Berry Burst ink.
- Using the Big Shot die cut the mermaid and sea horses, then also cut some leaves from the Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper.
- Using the Big Shot cut waves into the Pool Party card stock and some bubbles too using the image above as a guide.
- Stamp using Pool Party ink some bubbles onto the Pool Party card stock.
- Assemble the card by adhering the Pool Party card stock to the Bermuda Bay card stock. Then stick down the leaves using Glue Dots and make them appear to come up from the cuts of the waves. Glue the mermaid, seahorses and number down too.
- Glue the card front to the card base.
I just love the sparkles of the leaves, what little girl wouldn’t love to get a card like this with a mermaid and some glimmer! I would love a card like this. My daughter loved it too.
