Poké Ball Birthday Card

Yesterday was my baby boy’s 7th birthday. Well, he really isn’t really a baby but he will always be my baby. He is very much into Pokémon at the moment so I thought I should create a Pokémon Ball Birthday Card for him, particularly since we got him a soft Pokémon toy as a gift. The card was a big hit! (And super easy to make).

To create this card:

1. Cut a large circle about 150mm in diameter from the following card stock: (Note: Stampin’ Up!® doesn’t have a large enough circle, you can trace around a small place and cut)
   1. Whisper White Thick (for the back)
   2. Whisper White x 2
   3. Poppy Parade
   4. Basic Black – this can just be from a 5cm thick strip of card stock as you don’t need the full circle.
2. Take the Poppy Parade circle, and one of the Whisper White circles and cut almost in half, you need about 10mm less than half of both to create the two halves of the Pokémon Ball.
3. Punch out from the centre of the Whisper White and the Poppy Parade half a part of a circle using the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch (TIP: first punch out a circle from card stock then align the two half on a full circle and place the punch out on top in the middle, trace with a pencil to give you a guide where to punch).
4. Using the 1-1/4″ and the 1″ Circle punches punch one circle each.
5. Take the large circle from Whisper White Thick card stock and score a 1/4″ wide line from the top, this creates a card opening. Place a bit of Tear & Tape Adhesive and trim to the curve.
6. To assemble:
   1. Join the Whisper White Thick and Whisper White car stocks by removing the Tear & Tape Adhesive backing. This will be the top of the card (Or you can make it the left side if you wish to have a side opening card).
   2. On the front, adhere the strip of Basic Black card stock to the middle.
   3. Adhere the Poppy Red semi circle to the top half of the card and the Whisper White to the bottom.
   4. Adhere the 1″ circle to the 1-1/4″ circle and then to the centre of the card.

Any Pokémon fan would love this quick and easy but stunning Poké Ball card.
