Love Heart You Inspire Me Handmade Card With Instructions

Love Heart You Inspire Me Handmade Card With Instructions

Hello everybody!
Welcome to my blog. Today I’m sharing a card I created a while ago for the Stampin’ Fancy Friday August 2023 Challenge of CASE a Fancy Friend. The Stampin’ Fancy Group has past and present Artisan Design Team Members and there’s always inspiration there. I’m a tad behind in my blogging but I really wanted to share this project because I just love Brenda’s inspiration and what I came up with.

I chose to CASE Brenda Nelson from Canada because I fell in love with her card. Here’s a fun fact – Brenda lives in the same town where I was an exchange student 20 years ago!!!! Here’s the card I created:

[All supplies used in this project are shown at the end of this post and are linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store. You can purchase them and create this project too! Thank you for your support of my stamping adventure]

Here’s Brenda’s card that inspired me:

You can see the details of Brenda’s project here – https://www.stampsandstretchypants.com/home/be-inspired-blog-hop-lets-celebrate I also highly recommend following Brenda as she make amazing projects including scrapbook page layouts.

I loved Brenda’s card but didn’t want to copy the colours exactly. I did love the feel of having a blue base so I chose Boho Blue as this new In Color is one I really love and hadn’t used much of. I then looked at what Brenda used and thought what would make a nice subtle substitute?

Project Details

  • Card Base: Boho Blue
  • Card Front: Boho Blue (three strips 3 x 14.35 cm)
  • Banner: Basic White (5 x 8cm)
  • Sentiment: Basic White (6 x 6 cm)
  • Card Insert: Basic White (10 x 14.35 cm)
  • Start by embossing the three card front panels. I used the Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folders. Two of the panels I embossed with the Splatters and the third with the Stripes. TIP: to get a better embossing use a Stampin’ Spritzer filled with water to lightly not even dampen your cardstock before embossing. This will help the fibres soften and shape in the embossing folder.
  • Adhere these panels to the card base.
  • On to the Basic White Banner piece, stamp the flowers from the Crafting With You stamp set in Fresh Freesia ink. Then using paper snips cut a banner shape out at the bottom.
  • Stamp the sentiment “You Inspire Me” from Crafting With You stamp set in Boho Blue on the Basic White sentiment piece. Make sure you stamp in the middle and then die cut out using the stitching hoop die from the Crafting With You Dies. You’ll discard the hoop part so it doesn’t matter if all of it doesn’t fit onto the pice of cardstock. TIP: You can also die cut first and then stamp.
  • Die cut the following:
    • Hearts in various sizes from the Give It A Whirl Dies in Boho Blue, Fresh Freesia, and Bubble Bath.
    • The stitching hoop from Crafting With You Dies in Bubble Bath (keep the inside circle for another project)
    • Scissors from Crafting With You Dies in both Silver Foil and Fresh Freesia. Cut the scissor tips off the Fresh Freesia ones and adhere the handles over the top of the Silver Foil ones then assemble the scissors.
    • Spools from Crafting With You Dies in Basic White and some thread in Boho Blue, Fresh Freesia, and Bubble Bath.
  • Assemble the Card. TIP: I adhered the stitching hoop first then added the Boho BlueTextured Ribbon with Linen Thread. Then using Stampin’ Dimensionals added the sentiment over the top.
  • To finish off add some Tinsel Gems Three Pack (the Misty Moonlight ones).

No handmade card is complete without decorating the envelope and the inside of the card. I decided the stamp the same flowers onto the envelope flap. For the inside of the card, I added some of the left over die cuts.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that I’ve inspired you to be creative.

Bye for now!
