Hello Blue Birds

Hello Blue Birds

I made this card quite a while a go but haven’t shared yet. When I first got the Free As A Bird stamp set I just HAD to colour the birds with blue accents. I needed to get this out of my system. I did two cards. This is the first of the two. The other one you will see next week.

Tips to create this card:

  • I stamped the image on a separate piece of cardstock so that I could fussy cut it out.
  • Fussy cut on the lines for the background sponging to show up.
  • You can cut some of the legs off as the image is also stamped onto the card.
  • Stamp the image onto the card front too so that you have a guide for where to sponge the Balmy Blue.
  • Use the sponge glue trick to glue the cut out image if you wan all the edges stuck down.
  • Lightly sponge the edges of the label in Balmy Blue too to make it stand out more.
  • I dripped a little bit of water (very lightly) over the top of the sponging and then dried with a paper towel. The effect is subtle but there.
  • The sequin gives the card that extra sparkle.
  • Use your Take Your Pick tool to make picking up sequin super easy.
  • Add glue and let set before adding the sequin on top.

I created the envelope to give a hint of what you’ll find inside. I stamped the birds in Balmy Blue though to have a monotoned look on the envelope:

A “hello” themed card is a great generic card to have on hand. It’s fantastic to send to someone to let them know you are thinking of them.

Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that I’ve inspired you to be creative.

Bye for now!
