Global Creative INKspirations – Kids

Hello friends!
Today is our next blog hop for Global Creative INKspirations. My US demonstrator friend Angie and I have teamed up to bring you some inspiration – or as we are calling it INKspirations. This month we are looking at cards for kids. My card has been again inspired by Andrea from head office. Andrea presented the Bloom & Grow stamp set at OnStage Live in Auckland in April. The last sample she showed us used the flowers as a floral crown. Here is Andrea’s card:

I just LOVED this idea. I thought little girls would love this too and I created my own version making it a unicorn with a floral crown:

To create this card:

  • Heat emboss in gold the florals onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. Then watercolour it. I used Lovely Lipstick for the flowers, Bermuda Bay for the leaves and Highland Heather for the “berries”. Die cut out using the matching die from the Budding Blooms Dies.
  • Sketch out some ears on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut out using paper snips. Then do the same on the back of Gold Glimmer Paper for the inside of the ears – tip, trace around the Very Vanilla ears and then make it smaller. Cut out a horn from Gold Glimmer Paper. You can score diagonal lines on the horn and use them as guides to cut little “v” shapes to create the illusion of a swirling horn.
  • On the Whisper White card base use a dry Aqua Painter and Versamark Ink Refill to draw eyelashes to indicate eyes. Heat Emboss this in gold.
  • Add cheeks by using a Sponge Dauber and Blushing Bride ink pad.

I really love the way the eyes and the cheeks turned out!

I did feel that this card is quite fancy so needed the envelope and inside of the card to be fancy too. I heat embossed in gold the same florals on the envelope (I’ve never heat embossed an envelope before!) and the corner of the inside of the card!

My friend Angie has an adorable card for you. Please visit her blog: click here.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog! I hope today’s project has inspired you to get creative and try something new.
Until next time,
Tatiana
