Global Creative INKspirations – Birthdays

I’m so exciting to be in a special blog hop with my demonstrator friend Angie McKenzie from the USA. Angie and I are teaming up to expand the creative inspiration or as Angie calls it INKspiration. This month we are focusing on Birthdays. On Wednesday my daughter turned six and this is the card I made for the occasion:

I have to share a story, or more of an explanation that goes with this card. My maiden name in Russian was Zaitseva and this comes from the Russian word hare or rabbit. Growing up my papa called me Bunny (or Princess but that’s another story). Now as a mother I call both my children Bunny. I thought it would be so cute and fun to have a bunny on my daughters 6th Birthday Card.

Now my bunny is no ordinary one and so it had to be extra special. Before punching out I stamped some of the hearts from the Forever Lovely stamp set in the new In Color Rococo Rose (love that colour). This step is completely optional. You could stamp and punch your bunny from coloured card stock. Though if you do love the bunny I highly recommend buying it now, come 4th June 2019 it will be no long available.

The background for this card was inspired by one in the new 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue. Tips for creating this look:

  • Stamp bigger pieces of cardstock than you require for your card – you then get more than one card out of it and gives you freedom to play with the arrangement and size.
  • You do not need to own every ink pad to create this. As long as you have different coloured card stock and a Versamark Ink Pad you are good to go!
  • Using Versamark will make the stamping patterns lighter than using the coordinating colour ink pad.
  • All of these patterns come from the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set.

Until next time,
