My sister-in-law, well I should say one of my sister-in-laws turned 40 last month and I was avoiding making her card because I wanted it to be PERFECT. This SIL and I were friends before we married brothers, and it was she who set me up with my husband. I just really wanted to celebrate her well with this card. I thought the Cake Soiree stamp set would make a great card for this occasion. I was so thrilled when she said she loved the card!
To create this card I did the following:
- Stamped the solid cake image in Powder Pink onto Shimmery White card stock, but before stamping I used a sponge dauber to add some Berry Burst around the areas where there are flowers.
- Stamped the cake outline image on top with Versamark and added Silver Embossing Powder. Heat to set the embossing powder.
- Using the Sweet Soiree Decorative mask line up the cake decoration with the cake and use Shimmery White Embossing paste to add more glitter to the cake.
- On a corner of a piece of Berry Burst card stock I used the Sweet Soiree Decorative mask of the rose and a sponge dauber dipped in Berry Burst ink for some extra embellishment on the card.
- Using the Big Shot and the Sweet Cake Framelits I cut out:
- the cake stand from Silver Foil Sheet
- the stamped Cake image
- the leaves from Lemon Lime Twist Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper
- Using the Big Shot and the Large Numbers Framelits I cut out 4 and 0 out of the White Myths & Magic Glimmer Paper
- Assemble and adhere to a Powder Pink card stock base.
I just love all the glimmer and shine on this card. Its very girly and I think celebrates a milestone birthday wonderfully! I’m really gutted that the Large Numbers Framelits Dies are on the retiring list and will no longer be available from 1st June 2018. I cannot guarantee stock of them either so if you want them I highly recommend you order them NOW.
