Bright Christmas Rose INKspiration

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my blog!
I’m really excited about today’s project because it’s creation has come from combining a number of different inspirations. Let’s start with the stamp set. Stampin’ Up!® has a brand new limited time suite available starting 1st November 2019 for customers and it’s called “Christmastime Is Here”. As a demonstrator I was able to pre-order it on the 1st of October and it is gorgeous!!! I will be featuring this suite over the course of the next two weeks because one week was simply not enough!

The suite consists of a two part stamp set (one red rubber and one photopolymer) called “Christmas Rose”, coordinating dies “Roses Dies”, Christmastime Is Here Specialty DSP, Gold Glitter Enamel Dots, Gold Shimmer Ribbon and a Charming Rose Bracelet. This suite is stunning. I’m in love with it all and the Christmas Rose stamp set is big and beautiful. This is what I’ve featured in today’s card.

The colours in today’s project have been selected based on the Colour INKspiration Challenge. I’ve wanted to participate in one of these challenges for ages, but the right idea has never come to me. This time I’m so excited that I’ve been able to come up with something special. The challenge was to choose three of more of the colours – Gorgeous Grape, Costal Cabana, Poppy Parade, Pineapple Punch, Mint Macaron, and Lovely Lipstick.

Aren’t they just fun, fun, fun colours! I chose to work with Gorgeous Grape, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch. This is my entry:

The colours for this INKspiration challenge reminded me of artist I follow called Sanjana’s Art so I’ve channelled a bit of her into my project, and layer the colours on top of each other to create this project. I really highly recommend you check out her work. She is amazing!

The final layout of the card was inspired by a card by Milla K.

Card Details

Card Base: Whisper White Thick
Flowers: Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, stamped in Versamark and heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Die cut using the coordinating die. TIP: use the Stamparatus, as the Fluid 100 paper is textured and will require a few stamps of the image to get the perfect impression.
Card Front: Mask off the top third of the card, then use a wedge of a Stamping Sponge tapped on Pineapple Punch ink pad and apply in a circular motion. I started on the mask and worked up, leaving the top edge with less colour than the mask.
Paint the flowers in layers. Apply thin layers of Gorgeous Grape, Lovely Lipstick and Pineapple Punch. Allow to dry and then apply another layer overlapping the colours to make it appear to be blending into each other.
To apply the ribbon, add some Tear & Tape to the back.

I just LOVE how the colours work well together. The leaves are Gorgeous Grape with some Lovely Lipstick added to the base. The rose is Pineapple Punch in the middle and Lovely Lipstick around the outside, and the two colours blended together in the areas in between.

I decided to leave out a sentiment on this card because I felt it didn’t need anything else added to the front. What do you think? Does this card need a sentiment? If yes, what kind of sentiment would you add?
