WOW what a weekend it has been! I held my first every craft retreat! Two full days of crafting a fun, fun, fun! Plus on Saturday it was World Card Making Day – a day dedicated to card making. The Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator community celebrated with live videos from our Demonstrator Development Managers (DDM) every hour for 28 hours. I felt so fortunate that I was able to go live with our DDM Clare Langsford.
I’m also feeling very impressed with myself that when I arrived home last night I unpacked the car bag by bag and box by box and UNPACKED it back into my craft area! I’m all ready to go for some more crafting!
If you have been following me on Social Media you may know that I went Sugar Free in September to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy. I’m a bit of a sugar addict and so this is a HUGE challenge for me. I’m thrilled to say that I did it, and in fact I’m still sugar free a week into October. To everyone who sponsored my efforts I have made cards using this weeks’ Product of the Week: the Birthday Goodness Stamp Set!!!
I know that this is a birthday themed stamp set, but I did think it would be fun to create thank you cards using the images considering all the sweet treats pictured. Here is one of the sweet thank you cards I created:

Details of this card:
- Card Base: Flirty Flamingo.
- Card Front: Flirty Flamingo (94 x 137mm), Shimmery White (90 x 133mm), Sahara Sand Stitched Nested Label (52 mm wide) and Sahara Sand (40 x 15mm) for the sentiment.
- The “thank you” sentiment came from the Free As A Bird stamp set.
- Card Insert: Shimmery White (10 x 143mm)
- Stamp the donut platter and some single donuts from the Birthday Goodness stamp set onto another piece of Shimmery White card stock and colour using the Stampin’ Blends.
- Donuts: First with Mango Melody Combo and then in Ivory on top.
- Donut Icing: Flirty Flamingo.
- Sprinkles Shaded Spruce Light, Night Of Navy Light, Blackberry Bliss Dark, Pumpkin Pie Dark and Mango Melody Dark.
- Cake Stand: Ivory layered a few times and also the Color Lifter.
- Fussy cut the donuts and the donut platter cutting off the candles.
- Add the Stitched Nested Label to the card on Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then you can slip some of the single donuts underneath.
I did find it very hard to find the right “donut” colour and finally settled with colouring in first with the Mango Melody combo and then going over with the Ivory to get what I’m now calling “donut colour”.
For the icing, I used Flirty Flamingo combo Stampin’ Blends, then lifted the colour off with the Color Lifter on the sprinkles. Once that had dried I added the sprinkle colours. It’s a bit of work but I feel like it was well worth it.
I had a spare little donut, so I added it to the inside of the card. The envelope flap I stamped with lots of the single donuts for a sweet hint of what to find inside.
