I’m ready to be getting back into things. I took a bit of a break from social media to spend some time relaxing and being with my family. Now I’m so excited to share with you this week’s product of the week: Shimmer Paints!!!
The Shimmer Paints come in four colours and I’m so excited that two of the colours are carrying over once the Holiday catalogue ends on the 2nd January. The colours are:
- Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint $14.00 –– http://bit.ly/2zqupjY
- Frost White Shimmer Paint $14.00 –– http://bit.ly/2zquq7w

Today’s card uses only the Frost White Shimmer Paint. The card I’m showing is one that I created as one of my Swaps for OnStage last month in Brisbane.
All supplies used in this card are shown at the end of this post in the thumbnails. These are linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store.
To create this card:
Card base: Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock
Card fronts: Smoky Slate and Berry Burst both 80mm x 123.5mm
Sentiment strip: Very Vanilla 82mm x 30mm
- On Smoky Slate card from stamp in Versamark the large and small full orchid image from Climbing Orchid stamp set and then heat emboss in Black.
- TIP: if you want to make more than one, stamp on full A4 sheet and then cut to size after finished decorating.
- TIP: I found that it needed to be heat embossed in black for this. Using black ink didn’t work as well.
- Paint in the orchids on the Smoky Slate using a mixture of Frost White Shimmer Paint with Berry Burst ink refill (only need a drop or two).
- TIP: use a dry Aqua Painter for this.
- To create the look that the orchids are popping off the the page, use your Basic Gray Watercolor Pencil to add some shadows underneath and then blend into the cardstock using a Blender Pen.
- Stamp the sentiment “Enjoy Today” in Berry Burst on the sentiment strip.
- Die cut leaves in Lemon Lime Twist using the leaves from the Bouquet Bunch Framelits Dies.
- Assemble the card by adhering the Berry Burst card front to the card base, then the Smoky Slate. Adhere the sentiment with the leaves sticking out from behind.
- Add an extra touch with a bow using the Very Vanilla ribbon from the Tea Room Ribbon Combo Pack. Adhere with a Glue Dot.
I love the shine and shimmer the orchids have on this cards because of the shimmer paint! It really adds something special to this card.
As I was making quite a few of these cards, I decorated full A4 sheets with the orchids. I didn’t want to waste any of that pretty cardstock, so I also added a strip of it to the inside of the cards:
Thank you for visiting my blog! I hope that I’ve inspired you to be creative.
Bye for now!
