Babies in the Air

I was very lucky to go to a baby shower on the weekend for a dear high school friend. We had shared her first pregnancy (my second) five plus years ago and now she’s having baby number 3. I love celebrating new life and I had so much fun creating this card for the occasion:

All supplies used in this card are shown at the end of this post in the thumbnails. These are linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store.

To create this card:

1. Prepare card base in So Saffron or in your choice of colour
2. Prepare card front:
   1. Whisper White 94mm x 137.5mm
   2. So Saffron (or same colour as card base) 90mm x 133.5mm
3. On the So Saffron card front stamp the baby from the Sweet Baby stamp set and then stamp the bottle and safety pin in the gaps. Cut out a banner piece using the Triple Banner Punch from the right end.
4. On a strip of Whisper White card stock 70mm x 20mm stamp Baby Shower using the Make A Difference stamp set. (TIP: stamp the word shower first so that you know where to position the word baby).
5. On Whisper White thick card stock stamp the baby in Memento ink and colour the face and collar using Stampin’ Blends. (TIP: the baby is wrapped the blanket so there’s no need to colour the full image. I found you only need to colour the face and the collar.)
6. Using the Big Shot cut the baby out and from Whisper White the baby blanket using the Bouncing Baby framelits.
7. To assemble the card:
   1. Fold the blanket along the score lines. Add the baby and adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
   2. Add some Tear & Tape Adhesive to where the baby and the banner sentiment will go. Remove backing and add the Gold Metallic Thread to it. Attach the banner and baby in the blanket on top.
   3. Adhere with Multipurpose Liquid Glue the So Saffron card front to the Whisper White one to create a white border.
   4. Attach card front to card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

In creating this card I was going with a shower of babies in the background. Don’t forget to stamp your envelope and inside the card too:

I know that I’m going to get a lot of use out of this stamp set as I have another friend expecting and two of our sister-in-laws are also expecting! There really are babies in the air!
