August In Colors Club Card

Welcome to my 100th blog post! How exciting. On Monday this week I posted the first of the 2018-2020 In Colors Club collections to everyone who sign up. Everyone received an Stampin’ Pad, a Stampin’ Write Marker, 4 sheets of A4 cardstock, 4 each of two designs 6″x6″ DSP, 5 Mini Binder Clips, 3m Grosgrain Ribbon, a FREE Sponge Dauber and a hand made card in the In Color of the month. This is the card I made for August (each month I will show you the next card in the next colour):

All supplies used in this card are shown at the end of this post in the thumbnails. These linked to my Stampin’ Up! online store.

To create this card:

1. Prepare card base in Lovely Lipstick.
2. Prepare card front in Shimmery White cardstock 10mm x 143.5mm
3. Stamp in VersaMark ink the flowers from the Blended Seasons stamp set on the corners of the card front and then heat embossing using Stampin’ Black Embossing Powder.
4. Watercolour the background of the card front in Lovely Lipstick and leave the flowers and leaves white. Set aside to dry
5. Die cut the following using the Big Shot:
   1. The small label from the Stitched Seasons Framelits from Shimmery White cardstock
   2. One flower and two leaves from Sparkle Glimmer Paper (TIP: cut one of the leaves from the back of the Glimmer Paper so that it become a mirror image of the first).
6. On the small sitiched label stamp the “Thank You” sentiment from the Blended Seasons stamp set.
7. To assemble:
   1. Adhere card front to card base.
   2. Attach ribbon to the card front where the small stitched label will go.
   3. Attach the leaves to the back of the small stitched label and the flowers to the front.
   4. Attach the stitched label to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I love how the flowers pop out on the water coloured background. This can be done using any colour and just about any image! By using the Black Stampin’ Embossing Powder there is a small ridge around the stamped image and this makes it so much easier to water colour the background.
